If you are a homeowner or a residential landlord, the Government's Green Homes Grant Voucher Scheme allows you to apply for a voucher towards the cost of installing energy efficient improvements to your home. Vouchers will cover two-thirds of the cost of eligible improvements, up to a maximum of 5,000 or 10,000 if your household is on low income or certain benefits.

Only TrustMark Registered Businesses can carry out work under the Green Homes Grant. This is to provide quality assurance that the work will be completed to the required standards. The primary aim of TrustMark is to drive up standards across all sectors of home improvements and ensure high levels of consumer protection are maintained. Sustainable Energy Engineering is an MCS accredited renewable energy installer.

We design, supply and install systems that generate electricity and heat from solar and biomass energy. We are accredited with the Microgeneration Certification Scheme which means our Solar PV installations are eligible for the Smart Export Guarantee scheme.
Services
Sustainable Energy Engineering is a family run company, set up in the summer of 2006 by husband and wife team, Stephen and Haley Fairless.
The renewable industry was still in its infancy back then and was a difficult field to join.
Stephen has gained a wealth of experience as a result of his long service within the electrical and renewable industry.
Haley has a background in office management and customer service and re-trained as a Domestic Energy Assessor in 2007 and a Green Deal Advisor in 2012.
COMMERCIAL INSTALLATION: East Durham Business Centre was looking to reduce the carbon footprint of the centre and had an 8.25 kw system installed, since the installation this has reduced the electric bills by 50%.
With the reduction in electric bills and payments from the Feed in Tarriff the system will be fully paid for in just six years.
RESIDENTIAL INSTALLATION: Please view the below video, a Solar PV installation filmed at the property.
Scope of work: 4.27kW Solar Electric system installed, using 14 x 305W JA Solar panels with a SolaX inverter.
In recent years there have unfortunately been a number of companies that have traded in the Renewable Sector for a few years and then disappeared.
Leaving a lot of customers with nowhere to turn for after sales questions or service issues.
We are proud to say that we have been trading since 2006 and our customers are relieved to know that they have a friendly, knowledgeable company, which they can trust and rely on, just a phone call away.
Solar PV systems are generally very reliable, however, throughout the life of the system you may experience problems, the most common problems with PV systems is the inverter.

Solar thermal systems are generally quite robust systems that can work for 30-40 years with correct servicing.
Solar power is surging in popularity among homeowners and on commercial buildings.
With this increase for demand, there is also a demand to protect your investment against potential damage.
One of these threats comes from wildlife, and in particular, birds.
It is common to find pigeons taking an interest in your solar power.
Unfortunately, birds pose a risk of significant damage and you should implement ways of eradicating their threat to your renewable-energy investment.
Sustainable Energy Engineering provides those with solar power an effective and affordable system to exclude wildlife from interfering with and damaging their solar power system.
